Veteran kicker Jason Elam with broncos jersey signed a one day contract with the team on Wednesday but he will retire from the NFL as a member of the team where he began his 17-year career.
Elam, who spent 15 seasons with the Broncos from 1993, appeared in 236 games and helped Denver to Super Bowl titles in 1998 and 1999. Elam, a three-times Pro Bowl selection, spent the past two seasons with the Atlanta Falcons. He is fifth on the NFL’s all-time points list with 1,983 and holds the league record with 16 consecutive seasons with 100 or more points.
He also keeps the NFL record for the longest field record with Tom Dempsey.
